I traded in my first three cars between 70 and 80 K miles. One of them was mifing antifreeze with transmission fluid. My fourth – a Chrysler Town and Country is going stong at 148K.
Now I have come to expect that a car should last 175-200k miles. Any car that lasts less than 150K is piece of junk.
Money I spend on car should go towards building me a great machine and not towards providing the UAW contract clauses that are not possible for all working Americans.
If I have enough patriotism to buy American cars, I want American Auto Workers to have enough patriotism to make building me a durable, quality vehicle a priority over getting Union benefits that none of the non-union working class Amreicans can ever recieve.
Am I wrong in thinking that way?

I saw in T.V their are many junk yards are in western countries.They are full of recycled things (Used cars,iron parts and other metals,woods..etc) In my country (Sri Lanka) we can sell them and earn good money.Please tell me is their any owners to thous junk yards or do they belongs to government ?Can some one use that goods with no problem by police?

Okay. Say you're a millionaire that loves to get scrap cars and fix them up simply because…. Well you have a passion and the money. So, you're walking through a junk yard when you come across the body frame of a Honda Accord. Possible a '97, '98, '99, or a 2000 model. You look under the hood… Nothing. So, you take it home with you and begin to buy parts for it. You want nothing but the best you can get. What do you buy?

I am looking for a radar detector and/or navigation system for my car. I own 2 cars so I'd like them both to be removable so I can put them in whichever car I am driving. I have heard about new radar detectors using GPS in them — can that work with my laptop for me to create my own navigation system so I only need to buy 1 item?? Otherwise, what suggestions do you have for these types of units? I'd rather spend the money and get nicer toys that really work well than just junk that works sometimes.

Where do junk yards sell the old cars (by pound) that people either give away to them or sell to them? Is there a place where I can sell my old car directly to the buyers and not have the junk yard resell my old car to the metal scrap buyers for more money?
Where can I find these junk car buyers in the Chicago area (that are not junk yards but places that buy the cars per pound)?

My friend has a dealer which I can use his license to go and bid some cars at the auction. I want to fix and sell later to make some money. But I can't have more than 3 cars in my name in 1 year period. And to have a dealer's license is really expensive and I don't have any location.

My car died on Friday and my mechanic said there is no point in fixing it because it needs a new engine. It is such an awesome car and I'm so sad to see it go (1994 Ford Thunderbird). After calling a ton of places, the most I can get is $100 to sell it for scrap Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make a little more money than that?

I have a 2001 oldsmobile alero with about 130K miles on it. About a month ago I found out I blew the head gasket and was told it could be fixed but that it would be pricey and eventually I would have to also replace the bottome of the engine and then whateva else was found wrong with the car. I was told it would be cheaper to find another used car but what should i do with this one.

i am trying to get rid of my car that i just wrecked and i was wondering if i can at least make a little money off of it.

I have a 1995 Nissan Altima (180K miles), it still runs, but the body is in rough shape, and it has a lot of mechanical problems. It does continue to run and make a 70 mile trip each day. So far it has been very reliable, but looks like crap. Would I get more money to scrap it or try and sell it on craigslist as a junk car and list all the problems?
