this is the begining of the long agonizing proccess.nobody can really pin point the issue.you can get lucky by replacing the distributor or crankshaft sensor but its not guaranteed.i'll say maybe that was a bad batch by chrysler but they wont take responsibility.better start running and never look back before giving away your money for free.i suggest you get a different car before you regret it.i say so cause i had the same car.google your problem and you will believe.

I have a 98 cirrus lxi with the 6 cyl. I love the car. I would get it fixed. The stalling may be caused by a fuel filter or pump going bad. the odometer and tach probably have a loose connection or something. I wouldn't worry too much about them for right now. Just concentrate on getting it to stay running.

And I too had to have a distributor replaced. They seem to be a common problem on the 6's. But I did get it fixed and no problems at all since then. :o)

Just remember, a new car with new car insurance costs a heck of a lot more than fixing the old car.

Mine was a 95 Cirrus Lx,230M km. It stalled several times, wait half hour start up again.Mechanics said it was getting gas, spark was fine,it must be the distributor assembly. Not distributor cap. Could not really say what it was.Phoned the dealership who denied that this was a common problem.Estimate to fix,$850 plus tax.and no guarantee this was the problem.Junked the car, eventually a car can bleed you to death.
