How does the AZ plate credit work?

I just sold my car to a junk dealer because my car was totaled. My plate on my car is good until January and I was wondering how the AZ plate credit would work.

In Most states there is no credit if you have used 1 day of the year. Here In New York, the plate/registration is good for 2 years. So, If you have used 364 days and have 1 year and 1 day left, you can ask and receive 1 year credit.If not used within 30 days they will mail to the address on the registration a refund. Now what you have is what is tantamount to an In Store Credit meaning when and if you get another car you will transfer plates and receive the remaining time on the plates. In your case it seems to be approximately 70 days or so. So you won't get any credit other than the one I just stated.
