How do I fix a brown/non-repairable car title?
jeremiah asked:
I wanna trade my car for someone elses car but he told me he has a brown/non-repairable title which means it can only be sold for junk, metal or scap. The car runs and everything and is very clean. Please help me is there a way I can fix the title so it will be normal and I can drive it.
I live in TX so I would like to know how to do it for TX.

OK, maybe he means he has a SALVAGE title? If he has a SALVAGE title, you can still register it.
If he has a BROWN title, that means, he doesn't have LEGAL title to the vehicle, which is why you will never be able to register it.
Theoretically, you can throw a lot of money at the situation – buy a bonded title, track it down, etc, but it takes lots of money, and about six months – and if the car ends up being stolen or a repo – which is pretty darned likely, with a 'brown' title – the rightful owner comes and takes the car back.
