Has anyone sold copper scraps lately?
moonartblue asked:
Tearing down an old shed in back of my house, I found copper tubing, I think it was used for plumbing, man who lived here years ago, worked on cars, lots of heavy metal parts, and junk under the house..The copper that I can get to is very bendable, looks like tubing, for plumbing? I heard that it is worth alot these days, alot means what? Thanks, and where do I sell it, and not get ripped? I do know that this is copper, had a plumber verify it.

Our local paper states that copper is going for around $4 a pound. The article was written because people are actually pulling down power lines to strip and recycle them. Call recyclers in your area and ask how much they are buying for. This price can change from day to day so be ready to take it the day you call. Many offer higher rates for over 100 pounds also.
