can i junk a car if i dont have the title?

My grandpa bought cars all his life.. as he got older, he began forgetting alot.there are some cars he forgot to get the titles for. He passed away 1 year ago,, weve had to sell over 40 cars he had sitting around in properties he owned around town. We have 10 left. I have 2 cars that do not have titles. Im told i have to do alot of paperwork and a court appearance to fix this in order to sell it. Im in Texas and the car is a 1994 cadillac seville. very nice car so i dont want to junk it. the other is a 2004 crown vic

Technically, legally, no, the junkyard won't take the car without the title.
BUT. If you just want someone to haul it off, you can find them.
You can't sell a car that's not yours. You can't sell Grandpa's car, if he never titled it in his name, it's not his.
So, yes, keep calling around, you'll find SOMEONE willing to haul it off for free, for scrap, IF YOU SIGN THAT YOU'RE THE OWNER. Then, you go to jail if someone finds out it's stolen.

Donate the cars to a charitable organization, and you will get a receipt to deduct the fair market value on your 2009 Federal income tax return. Most charitable organizations do not require paperwork.
